Why I Sold My Android At Lower Price to Buy an iPhone
I want to share a short story about myself, explaining the rudest decision of my life and most loss I’ve ever faced in my past life. Let’s get started!
September 10, 2020
My old device, I was using since two and a half years, suddenly stopped working. It was the first time my smartphone was brain-dead. The device I was using was POCO F1. It was an amazingly fast device on which I’ve played PUBG by full of my heart until I lost interest in gaming. Afterwards of leaving gaming, I only used that device for business use such as invoicing, ledgers and other accounts and personal use like surfing, watching YouTube, running through social media and many more things as other teenagers. The very next day, after my device got dead, I rushed to MI service center to find out what happened to it.
September 11, 2020.
I was at MI service center, Akola. The receptionist took my mobile and asked me to take a seat. The hall was fully occupied by empty chairs and chairs were kept just like how they are arranged for some marriage ceremony. It was a period of coronavirus outbreak, maybe that’s why all chairs were empty. Receptionist was very well-disciplined and polite. She asked me 120₹ just to check what happened to my lovely device. I agreed with a condition that she’ll give me receipt of 120 rupees she took to check the device. She simply denied. With no other option left. I handed over my device to her. She asked me to wait for about ten to fifteen minutes.
After nearly forty-five minutes, an engineer came up with my device, claiming its motherboard was dead. I was shocked, I knew nearly how much I’ll have to pay for its repair but still for pleasure of my heart, I asked them cost of repair. They said, “its mother board costs up to ten thousand rupees, but we’ll give you a discount, so you’ll only have to pay nine thousand five hundred rupees.” That was good but when I checked the price of my device, it was selling at only for 15 thousand rupees, so I felt my 10,000 would be wasted because when you are getting the same device new for nearly the same amount, why would you repair that old phone with nearly the purchasing amount.
So I considered getting a new device rather than repairing it. But one good thing happened to me was that the receptionist took only 100 rupees from me and gave me 20₹ back. I still don’t know why.
The same day.
I travelled back to home. Asked my dad to get a new device instead of repairing the old one. He agreed in a single word. And now the story starts.
I was looking for everywhere on internet to what device I should purchase. I was an android enthusiast, so I was never attracted to iOS or iPhones. It was not of my company. After searching and searching, I came up with two choices. One was Samsung Galaxy m51 and the other one was OnePlus nord 5G. I chose m51 because of its massive 7000 mAh battery. I bought the device on the same day and started waiting for it to arrive. After 4-5 days, it arrived.

I was very happy with the device as it got huge display of 6.7 inches and massive 7000 mAh battery. But in just 3-4 months I started recognizing my mistake to purchase android. It started lagging.
It started lagging while watching YouTube, operating Facebook or doing any other heavy tasks as I’m a heavy user. I bought the device for 25000 from Amazon. But I was no longer able to bear my mistake, so I started finding customer for the device and eventually got. I made a deal for Rs.16000 which was comparatively lower, and I was really sad to make that deal.

Now I was happy and excited because my dream was about to come true. I was going to buy an Apple iPhone for real. We headed towards our car and went straight to the nearest Apple Store, which is located in Akola. My dad and me, went to the store and asked him to show the iPhone 11. Prices were comparatively higher than that of online stores, but still we managed to purchase it because of color. The white color I wanted was nowhere available online, while the price of iPhone online was 57,000₹ for 128 GB variant. We bought it for 57600₹, and had to purchase charger separately for somehow 1900₹. I purchased it and was really very happy.
After using iPhone, I’ve realized that Apple takes money, but every penny worth. I’m totally satisfied with the iPhone I purchased. I was never satisfied with the android I purchased. Furthermore, I always used to feel cheated when my M51 was in my hand. I lost my money which was nearly about 10,000₹, but now I feel like I won. I won the fight for what technology you deserve. Thanks for reading my experience..
